This review is about the WURKKOS HD01 EDC Flashlight
This pretty unique EDC flashlight combines 3 light sources: a Cool White LED, a Green Laser and an RGB LED Strip, more below:
PACKAGE CONTENT
the content of the white cardboard box is pretty simple:
- Flashlight with an included non removable battery
- a manual (click to see the PDF)
- a lanyard
- a 3 feet/100cm long USB-A to USB-C cable
There are in this case no orings, removable batteries or other accessories and extras.
This light has a multitude of LEDs, it’s like having 3 flashlights in one.
First the main LED is a single 6000-6500K cool white LED with a TIR Optic with a 15° angle, the declared Max Output on the website is 1200umens, it has 5 modes: 1lm Moonlight, 20lm low, 100lm medium, 450lm high and a 1200lm turbo, along with a 1200lm strobe (typical addition to chinese lights).
Second it uses a Green Laser module, to be used as a laser pointer, I couldn’t find info on its wavelenght, surely it has enough power to be seen even outside.
Third it has a 15 RGBW LEDs with a 4.000k 95cri white leds and RGB (RED GREEN BLUE) colored leds, this alllows to have a white COB/strip light or funny colored LEDs.
The included LiPoly battery has about 1.000mah capacity with a voltage ranging between 4.2 and 3.0v.
It’s compatible with PD quick charging and charges in about 1hr with a 30w charger, the connection has a standard USB-C plug and can deliver power with the flashlight turned on, so you can have a longer runtime by attaching it to a wall outlet or powerbank.
The USB-C port is covered by a rubber boot which (see below) unfortunately does not provide enough water protection to allow it to be dumped (unless accidentally) in water.
Other features are a magnetic tail and a steel dual way clip with lanyard hole.
To operate the flashlight you have 2 buttons, the front button operates the Green Laser, the RGB Strip and enables switch breathing, basically both buttons slowly blink to locate the flashlight in the dark.
The rear buttons operates the main CW LED and has a locking Function.
Both buttons also show the battery state, green means the battery is charged, red means the batttery is low, the indicator works both when you use the flashlight and when you are charging it.
Interesting is that the flashlight has a dual operation, this means you can use the main LED with the side strip or the green laser with the main led.
As all the WURKKOS lights I have reviewed this one also includes a ATR Advanced Thermal regulation, that kicks in at 60°C and reduces the output to cool the light.
And lastly and very important, the light features LVP, Low voltage Protection, which turns the light off when the battery level is too low to operate safely, declared is at 2.7v.

There are 2 switches:
One for the Green Laser and the RGBW Strip
One for the main LED
The rubber boot protects the USB-C port, which is compatible with PD fast charging.
The flashlight is IP65 rated but I suggest not to freeze or submerge it, see why below.
The HD01 used a plastic TIR/lens.
The main LED has a TIR while the green laser has just a plain plastic cover.
The lens is not scratch or shatter proof, tried scratching mine with a screwdriver and it got a few scratches.
I’m unsure if there is an oring below, apparently there is none.

Now to my favourite test, the freezer test!
The light was put in the freezer for 24 hours on moonlight and laser, to simulate a forgotten light into snow, a test underwater or it’s ability to withstand both cold and water.
Unfortunately some water entered through the boot (it was well closed..) or the Lens (my assumption) and you can see there are some drops under the lens.
The light works normally, the green laser has some artifacts in the beam while the main LED is pretty fine thanks to the TIR optics.
The side COB light has some drops too but it doesn’t affect the beam.
The IP65 rating should be sufficient but it’s dangerous, so I don’t suggest doing anything more than splashes on it.
I’ve added a new test, I’ve got a simple USB tester off amazon and these are the results:
The capacity is about 1.000mah at 5V charging, the charging was done at 1A approx the whole time, the voltage and charging graphs show a pretty stable current.
Last Words and Conclusions:
I got the flashlight sent by WURKKOS to review, I was not paid for the review, what you read is my honest and personal opinion.
What I like:
- poweful high level
- enoughbattery life
- compact
- easy to use
- useful additional LEDS
- can be used while charging
- you can use the main LED and COB light together
What I DON’T like:
- Cool White LED is not for everyone, it has low CRi
- not waterproof unfortunately
Other considerations:
- battery might loose capacity over time, being non removable
