Wurkkos FC11 Flashlight Review – 18650 – LH351D 4000K 90CRI Neutral White

Last Update 03-04-2021

Wurkkos FC11 Flashlight Review, this one is one of the latest flashlights from Wurkkos, a chinese flashlight company.
It is a single LED powered light suited for EDC or other uses that don’t require outrageous amounts of lumens.

It mounts 1x Samsung LH351D 4000k neutral white LED with a CRI (Color Redention Index) of 90, so it should show colors well.
The LED is coupled with a specific driver powered by a Liion 4.2v 18650 flat top battery with 3000mah (included, more on it below).

The light has 2 “modes”: stepless ramping or 4+turbo mode.
It arrives set on the stepless ramping mode as default, it ramps from moonlight to turbo (declared 2 and 1300lm, seems some 2 and 1000-1000lm)
I currently  have no means to measure the output, yet.

The driver is pretty simple but has advanced features like thermal regulations, it steps down when reaching 55c but does not step back up if it cools down. LVP is present, and the leds on the switch show either green or red to indicate the battery level.

The Wurkkos FC11 has some other features that I think, for such a low price deserve to be mentioned, it offers a triple click strobe, four click lockout mode, press-hold low direct access and double click to turbo direct access, all features well known to Anduril users, nice to find in such a simple flashlight.

To complete the package you find USB-C charging with PD compatibility, a 3000mah battery, spare o-rings, a clip and a magnet on the tailcap.

The Included battery is a button top (unprotected i think) 3000mah wurkkos branded one, I measured 2.700mah so it surely is the same cell that sofirn and other use, a Samsung30Q 3.000mah 15A. All those I own measure approximately 2.700mah most of the time.

I usually use Sanyo 18650GA’s as they are 3.350mah and 10A, the quality is solid and they work well in any climate. Sanyo is better for me, not only being often cheaper but it seems holds some more mAh capacity and is 10A vs 15A, unnecessary for this light, as I don’t visually see much difference in output.

There is also (on Amazon) the possibility to choose between 2700k, 4000k and5000k LEDS, all Samsung LH351D. The reviewed version is for now, the 4000K, I chose it because it’s my favourite tint, being creamy and not too yellow or too neutral and has very high CRI

The box comes with a complete kit:

– Wurkkos FC11
– Wurkkos labelled 3000mah 18650 lion battery, flat top
(2.700mah measured on the first cycle charge)
– cardboard battery protection (remove before use)
– 2 spare orings
– a lanyard
– a charging USB-C/A cable, rather long
– complete instruction manual

The Wurkkos FC11 arrives in a simple printed cardboard box.

It comes in a complete kit with all you need to be ready for adventures, in town or outside.

There are 2 spare o-rings, a lanyard not to loose the light, a 18650 battery and an USB-C cable, fairly long, not one of those 5cm long ones.

The Light

There is a convenient USB-C charging port compatible with PD chargers (quick charge) protected by a thick rubber cap.

1x Samsung LD351D 4000K neutral white LEDs with a CRI (Color Redention Index) of 90. Look at that eye! ;)

When the battery is charged the indicator is green, red if the battery needs charging.

The included battery shows a first cycle/grading charge on my XTAR VS4S with a capacity of 2700mah, very similar if not precise to my Samsung 30Q and Sofirn 3000mah (which looks exactly the same, being a button top, unprotected cell).

It is a satisfying capacity, even though it lacks the higher capacity of the Samsung 35E and Sanyo/Panasonic 18650GA.

The 15A current this cell offers will never be used by this light, so, a better or higher capacity cell would have been more suited.

The Fc11 is in my opinion a more floody, better made version of the Sofirn SC31.

Price and performance are very similar, the FC11 is said 1300lm, the SC31 with a SST20 400K FA3 95CRI is said to be 700, to my eyes they are both around 1000lm, see the next pictures.

Action Shots!

There is a magnet on the tailcap, strong enough to hold the light at 90 degrees.

Room with no lights, daylight outside.

FC11 2 click from off “turbo” mode.

Pretty floody beam with a large smooth hotspot, very nice beam pattern, very usable.

Sofirn SC31b high mode. Right. (much more throwy beam, with a strong hotspot, very little flood or spill)
