Wurkkos DL30 Diving Flashlight Review, this one is one of the latest flashlights from Wurkkos, a chinese flashlight company.
The main idea behind it is that it’s meant to be a diving flashlight or at least one used in water and around water.
It mounts 3x Samsung LH351D 5000K neutral white LEDs with a CRI (Color Redention Index) of 90, so it should show colors well.
The LEDS are coupled with a specific driver powered by a Liion 4.2v 21700 flat top battery (included).
There are 3 power outputs selected via a magnetic ring, 350lm (6h approx), 1300lm (2h approx) and 3500lm (1:30h approx), I have no means to measure the output yet but it seems pretty close.
You can skip the first 2 and jump to 3 by turning the ring at once, the 4 clicks are solid and sound, no wiggling.
The driver is pretty simple but has advanced features like thermal regulations, it steps down when reaching 55c but does not step back up if it cools down. LVP is present, the light flashes once a minute when the battery is low, allowing the user to emerge and change the battery.
Last, to keep the water out there are 2 orings to seal the body from water and the walls are thick enough to withstand abuse and use.
The box comes with a rarely seen complete kit:

(4.477mah measured on the first cycle charge)
– cardboard battery protection (remove before use)
– 2 spare orings
– a generous rubber padded lanyard ring not to loose the light underwater (no GITD attachment, if you loose the light while off, it’s gone)
– a charger with micro usb to usb A cable
– and a white plastic 18650/21700 adapter, no copper extention is needed as the light has 2 springs

I have yet to test it underwater or on the boat but as an EDC-Work light it’s excellent! the 3 power modes are good for daily use and the beam is a nice floody beam with a large center spot.

4 steps magnetic power selection ring.
I’d really love to see a version with stepless ring or stepless with 3 fixed levels, to have a real moon-low and the higher levels depending on use, hey Wurkkos!? can you hear me?
the battery goes with the positive “+” towards the LEDs
The walls are pretty thick to withstand use-abuse and the high pressure, remember it is declares it can be submerged to 100mt – 10bar
There are 2 copper springs to allow the battery not to rattle and 2 orings to keep water and moisture out.
Included are a charger and USB micro to A cable, you will need a 1A input socket or power supply to charge, the charger has a 1A input and 0,75A output, not fast but ok.
NOTE: it does not state 21700 batteries but it works and fits them (flat top only)
I have a ton of 18650 batteries at home and in my kits, what buggers me is having to carry spare 21700s, so I’m happy to find an adapter in the box from 18650s to 21700s, I usually keep spare batteries and adapters so I don’t have to always think abut what batteries I need every time.
The worst is having spares, wrong spares…
The included lanyard is pretty long and has a rubber tube to keep it from sliding and turning around too much, I’ve never seen this before
The included 21700 lion battery is stated 4800mah and 48ah.
To me as it measures 4.477mah on the first grading charge on my XTAR VC4S and cannot be 48ah could be a Samsung 50E rewrapped, so it’d be 4500mah+- and 10A current.
Testing my 50E the output is exactly the same to my eyes.

Price is around 50€ with a 10% discount from the original 54,99€

What I like:
- GREAT Price and quality
- great anodizing and grip
- runs on 21700 and 18650 rechargeables
- powerful
- thick alu
- nice magnetic ring
What I DON’T like:
- only 3 modes, ramping would be better
