WURKKOS DL10R Flashlight Review – this one is a medium single emitter model from Wurkkos’s diving lights range, it’s meant to be used under water or around water as it’s completely waterproof up to 100mt.
It mounts a Single Cree XHP70.2 4700K – 5000K neutral white LED with a CRI (Color Redention Index) of around 90, so it should show colors pretty naturally. The tint is pretty much typical 5000k with some green/blue at the side, only visible at near distance or when whit wall hunting, no other colors are visible when pointed at objects at a distance.
The beam is pretty wide so the spot is medium, the throw is good at short and medium distances.
The LED is powered by a Constant current boost driver with an operating voltage of 2.8V – 4.5V as declared from the manufacturer. The standby drain is declared to be as low as 60μA.
The light is powered by 21700 Li-Ion rechargeable batteries (max lenght is 70-72mm) and one is provided in the box with a capacity of 5000mah (stated, will be updated)
There are no special features apart from thermal regulation and LVP, mine didn’t step down quickly, the 4.500 lumens are held for a good time, the light becomes hot though.
The light should step down when hot but mine hasn’t in my tests, heat dissipation is good given the thickness of the walls and head.
LVP is indicated with a power stepdown and some flickering.
The Light has 3 power modes 600lm, 1800lm, 4500lm that assure you to stay out of the darkness for a pretty long time. Power levels can be chosen via a magnetic ring, you can skip the first 2 and jump to 3 by turning the ring at once, the 3 clicks are solid and sound, no wiggling.
The magnetic ring is the same of the DL30 .
There is unfortunately no lockout safety, unless screwing the tailcap a few degrees.
Last, to keep the water out there are 2+2 orings to seal the body from water and the walls are thick enough to withstand abuse and use.
Apart from this little critique it’s a wonderful chunk of flashlight, wide battery choice, powerful, massive so, with good heat dissipation.
I’m not a diver but I regularly am out at night on the boat, hiking, camping and this is a good choice, solid and reliable.
Keep in mind the 600lm “low” might be high in many cases, night vision is not preserved so well.

hefty and powerful, the large 7x7mm footprint makes a large hotspot
The DL10R can tailstand easily, just be careful the tail is very narrow at at the lanyard hole.
The laser etching is well done.
Magnetic output selection ring, 4 levels + off position, no lockout mode.
Large square cut threads, very smooth and allow physical lockout.
the tail side threads are anodized as they host the back-cap covering the USB-C charging port and that part cannot be disassembled.
Tailcap removed.
The charging port is USB-C with 3A input and a red-green status led.
The head is thick and sturdy, heat dissipation is very good above water, the electronics look clean. Note the thick contact point with the + of the battery!
I really love the scuba series from Wurkkos, look at these thick walls from the battery tube, really sturdy!
21700 LI-ION battery with a declared capacity of 5.000mah, flat and unprotected.
The cell has the same capacity from my other Samsung 50E so this could be the cell under the wrap. I haven’t seen many 21700’s with so high mAh’s around.
My XTAR VC4S reads 4413 mAh’s real capacity so the capacity is even lower than the 4.800 mah from my DL30.
The battery should better be labelled 4.500mah.
It still is a very good battery.

Last Words and Conclusions:
The Wurkkos DL10R was kindly sent by Wurkkos to review, the review is honest with positive and negative experience with the light. I was not paid for the review.
What I like:
- solid construction, very thick with great heat dissipation
- easy to use (magnetic ring is stupid easy)
- 3 levels are useful in most situations
- USB-C charging at 3A is quick
- hefty
- single led means long lasting battery
- uses larger 21700’s
What I DON’T like:
- a stepless 0-100% ring would be useful in more situations
- tint shift at short distances
Other considerations:
- compatible with flat top 21700’s
- a sheath would be good as there is no clip
